TNRS has put tickets on sale for the month of September

 

"Now, during the hottest month of the year, all the scheduled performances are sold out. At the same time, we are working on four premieres: The Seagull and The Misunderstanding, at the Romanian Section, My loved ones at the German Section, and Ah, what beautiful days, a collaboration of the two sections. Three of them will be part of the September program. We are happy to be able to prepare these new premieres for the autumn season and we once again bow deeply to the audience, who filled the performance halls to capacity", says Constantin Chiriac, President of the Sibiu International Theater Festival and General Director of the "Radu Stanca" National Theater of Sibiu.

 

"The Misunderstanding" by Albert Camus, directed by Bobi Pricop, stars Diana Văcaru-Lazăr, Pali Vecsei, Marius Turdeanu, Cendana Trifan and Raluca Iani. The latest TNRS premiere brings one of Albert Camus' essential plays to audiences in a captivating director's version. We invite you to a new performance by Bobi Pricop, a metaphor about the "misunderstanding" between the members of a family, which actually reflects the conflicts, but also the means of salvation, of a world in a state of emergency.

 

"The Misunderstanding" will premiere on September 15, at 7:00 p.m., at the TNRS Great Hall in Corneliu Coposu blvd., no. 2.

 

“Die Meinen” / “My loved ones”, based on Gorky’s text, presents us with the continuous struggle between generations, children and parents, husband and wife, brothers and sisters, all doomed to unhappiness. Those who can save themselves, do so. The actual battle for our dreams, for making them come true. Who and what stands in the way of our happiness? A performance about silent things, the lack of dialogue and the fierce need to love. What turns us from people into monsters when it comes to acquiring our happiness and the need to be free?", asks director Dumitru Acriș.

"Die Meinen"/"My loved ones" will premiere on September 29, at 7:00 p.m., at the TNRS Great Hall.

 

The September program includes two performances of the play "Faust" by J. W. Goethe, directed by Silviu Purcărete, a performance of the TNRS production "Games, words, crickets...", directed by Silviu Purcărete, with Constantin Chiriac in the cast, as well as many other acclaimed performances by the Romanian and German Sections.
