The premiere Aici nu se simte?! opens the autumn season at TNRS

The Radu Stanca National Theatre Sibiu presents, this September, the premiere of Aici nu se simte?! by Lia Bugnar. The premiere will take place on September 5, at 7 p.m., at Sala Studio, followed by another performance on September 21, at 5 p.m., at Sala Mare.

“Our dear audience, we are waiting for you at the opening of the autumn season, on September 5, with an absolute premiere – Aici nu se simte?! This is an event-performance, signed by a complex personality – the playwright, director, actress, and the person who loves theatre and film in a truly special way, Lia Bugnar. The text was written especially for a co-production between the National Theatre in Sibiu and Green Hours in Bucharest. The cast brings together two exceptional actors, Ofelia Popii and Ciprian Scurtea, and the performance will accompany, throughout the year, the major productions in which Ofelia Popii performs. Before or after Faust, we will try each time to schedule this remarkable performance as well. We are delighted to collaborate with Lia Bugnar and to welcome her back to the National Theatre, after the resounding success of Felii, which brought Ofelia Popii her second title as the Best Actress in Romania. Aici nu se simte?! is a performance that is truly unique, emotional and challenging, and one that will bring you great joy. “It has been said that Romeo and Juliet was the love story that encompassed everything. That nothing lovers ever felt was missing from that story. And I tend to believe that is true. More than two young people who defeat destiny only for destiny to defeat them in the end… what else can you tell? And yet. There are also small love stories, no less precious. Aici nu se simte is one of those loves on this earth that might have been and wasn’t, or perhaps it was… it remains for each spectator to leave with their own ending. Who has never wondered how their life would have been if, at a certain moment, instead of going one way, they had gone the other? Who has never regretted a ‘no’ that could have been a ‘yes’? Who has never been a coward in a moment when just a little courage could have changed their life, choosing safety instead, no matter how sad that safety might have been? Aici nu se simte is a play in which, ironically enough, one feels a lot, and painfully so, even though here we may have the smallest love story in the world. It is hard to say whether the love in Aici nu se simte?! is fulfilled or not, and that is why spectators are needed to decide. Spectators are needed… and in return, we offer them emotion and, paradoxically, comedy. Because the sadnesses we love are the ones that make us laugh out loud before secretly wiping away a tear” – Lia Bugnar.
