LOVING SABOTAGE
after Amelie Nothomb

The story presents the life of a little girl from Europe living in a neighbourhood for foreigners in the town of Beijing, where her father works as a diplomat. The games they play in the neighbourhood and the tricks they play on each other are the ways in which the children, all of them of different ethnicities, interact and get to know each other. The arrival of a new colleague, the beautiful Elena, makes it so that all the attention is focused on her. Pretty soon, fascination transforms into love and the little girl, who until then would do whatever antics crossed her mind, finds herself looking differently at her new friend. A performance about friendship and love, about discrimination and tolerance, about childhood’s ruthlessness and adult hypocrisy.
