Against Progress/ Gegen den Fortschritt starts a debate on the question what means progress of humanity, a main thematic issue throughout all generations, in a staging that reveals the essence of our daily absurdity using means of expression that are authentic, minimalist combined with strong surrealist accents. The production of the German Section offers an absurd universe, populated with unusual characters, picturing a possible macabre future of humanity. The seven distinctive scenes present how the world will look like in the years that are to come if we follow the actual development course of progress: a world, alienated, missing any morality, any emotion.
