TNRS - Digital Stage is going LIVE! The performance “Live”, directed by Bobi Pricop, opens the LIVE section on Thursday, 18 February, at 7 p.m.

The Digital Stage extends its offer for theatre-lovers, by inaugurating a new section dedicated to live streaming of the shows performed in theatre halls. On Thursday, 18 February, the show “LIVE”, directed by Bobi Pricop, will be the first to be live streamed inviting the audience to a theatrical experience wherever they may be, in similar conditions to being in a theatre venue. Tickets can be bought at the same price of a seat in theatre hall, i.e. RON 30, and the performance is available for viewing for as long as it is performed on stage.

You can now experience a performance in your own home

The LIVE section arose from the National Theatre in Sibiu’s need to be close to as many spectators as possible, in the context of the restrictions imposed because of the pandemic preventing an extended audience for the artistic acts presented on stage. Thus, TNRS extends a new invitation to its audience: watching the programme of performances played on stage from their own homes, as these are live streamed on the Digital Stage platform.

Through this initiative, TNRS aims for the LIVE section of the Digital Stage to become a means to connect not only to spectators in Sibiu, but also to its (inter)national audiences. To this end, the National Theatre in Sibiu dreams that spectators everywhere will “take part” at the stage acts that take place in Sibiu, from the comfort of their own homes.

“LIVE”, directed by Bobi Pricop, a show on how reality is perceived in the age of post‑truth; “White Rabbit Red Rabbit”, produced by Aurora Nova, an improvisational challenge for actors Ofelia Popii and Marius Turdeanu; and “A Summer Day”, directed by Ofelia Popii, a performance about the beauty of life – these are the first shows to be live streamed on www.scena-digitala.ro.

A free show per month for Digital Stage subscribers

Every month starting February 2021, Digital Stage subscribers will have access to an internationally renowned performance, regardless of their subscription type (1‑month, 3‑month, 6‑months, or 12‑months). Throughout 2021, 11 well-known international productions will be gifted to the audience, becoming part of our permanent offer. Each of these performances will be available for the current month. The productions of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre streamed on the Digital Stage (https://www.scena-digitala.ro/en) platform are available anytime, anywhere, on any device (PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet, TV), in a pay-per-view or subscription system. Subscriptions cost between RON 49 and RON 329, depending on their duration and the number of performances included.
