The “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu presented on Friday, 18 January and Saturday, 19 January, accompanied by guests from the diplomatic and business environment, and the German linguistic area, two of the most recent performances in the repertoire: “The Broken Jug / Der zerbrochene Krug” concept performance and scenario by Armin Petras, directed by Dominic Friedel – coproduction of the Romanian Department and the German Department of “Radu Stanca” National Theatre (18 January) and the production of the German Department “Here and there” / Hin und her”, directed by Alexander Riemenschneider (19 January).

Together with Astrid Cora Fodor, Mayor of Sibiu, Constantin Chiriac, General Manager of the National Theatre in Sibiu and Hunor Horvath – the new head of the German Department of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre, other personalities attended the performances, such as His Excellency Cord Meier-Klodt – Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Romania, Thomas Kloiber – Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bucharest, Andreas Huber – Honorary Consul of Austria in Sibiu, Hans Tischler – Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sibiu, Evelin Hust – Director of Goethe Institute in Bucharest, Ioan Bondrea – Rector of the University “Lucian Blaga” in Sibiu, General Ghiță Bîrsan – Rector of the Land Forces Academy “Nicolae Bălcescu” Sibiu, Cristian Macedonschi – General Manager HoReCa Services, Oswald Kolb – General Manager Continental Sibiu, Klaus Eichhorn – General Director Daimler, Star Transmission and Star Assembly, Alexander Firsching – Senior Vice-president and Commercial Director Bosch Blaj.

On Saturday, 19 January, the Sibiu City Hall hosted a meeting with the Mayor of Sibiu - Astrid Cora Fodor.
Representatives of “Radu Stanca” National Theatre and the guests to the two events have participated on Saturday, 19 January 2019, to a meeting with the Mayor of Sibiu, Astrid Cora Fodor, in order to identify some cooperation strategies to promote culture.

“In 2018 the City Hall of Sibiu invested the amount of 15% of the local income in culture, financially supporting the activity of the three cultural institutions under the authority of the Local Council, but also cultural events organized by public institutions and private operators through the Cultural Agenda. The business environment is constantly offering these events an extra source of financial support and that is the reason why these meetings, are useful for presenting future projects in which we can all collaborate for the good of the public and the community in our city." Hunor Horvath, new head of the German Department TNRS
With multiple citizenships, Romanian, German and Hungarian, Hunor Horvath was born in 1986, in Sfântu Gheorghe, and graduated from the Athanor Academy in Burghausen, in 2011 in Germany. This allowed him to be active in theatre and cinematography even since he was a student. Following the participation to numerous workshops and graduating from two master programs in the field of Cultural Management and Performing Arts in prestigious universities in Switzerland, Hunor Horvath specialized in the field of directing and the Management of cultural programs. He collaborated with various institutions in Romania, Germany and Switzerland, he is fluent in German, English, Hungarian and Romanian and starting with January 2019 he is the new Head of the German Department of “Radu Stanca” National Theatre.

All these institutions are significantly open to the local community and the projects concluded in collaboration have a strong impact nationally and internationally and they benefit from trustworthy partners from the community.
